The Elizabeth, NJ Firemen's Federal Credit Union was started in 1934, organized in 1935 and received Federal Charter #916 in January of 1936.

Credit Union History and Field of Membership  

For over 70 years, the Elizabeth, NJ Firemen's FCU has been providing financial assistance for our members. From 1936 to May of 1999 our Field of Membership was limited to City of Elizabeth Fire Department employees and their families.
 
Since 1999 we have added the following to our field of membership:
  • Elizabeth Parking Authority
  • Elizabeth PBA Local #4
  • Elizabeth Emergency Medical Benevolent Association members who work in Elizabeth
  • Employees and members of the Kenilworth Fire Department and Rescue Squad
  • Employees of American Plumbing Supply who work in Elizabeth, New Jersey
  • Employees of the City of Elizabeth, NJ, except for teachers, firemen and policemen
  • Members of record of the E.C.H.E. Federal Credit Union as of the effective date of the merger with this credit union, which was January 3, 2005

If you are looking to join our credit union contact us through email and give the following information: Name, email and name and address of the company for which you work. We will forward our information to the company and see if they will apply to become part of the credit union. If they do, we will expedite procedures to include them in our Field of Membership and extend the benefits to you and your family.

AS MANDATED BY THE

To help the government fight terrorism and money laundering activities,

the USA PATRIOT ACT, a federal law, requires all financial institutions to

obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens

an account.

 

When an account is opened or changed, we will ask for your name, address,

date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. 

We may also ask to see your drivers license or other identifying documents.
